Full Description
Hexagonal type 22 pillbox. [Shown on OS 1:2500 sheet SY 6577 (1958)]. Pirates Lane, off Westhill Road, Wyke Regis (East Fleet). <1-3>
A hexagonal stucture is visible on aerial photographs <4> and Lidar imagery <5>, located on the coast just to the south-west of Castle Hill Farm (NGR SY65715 77024). It is considered likely to be the site of a Type 22 pillbox associated with Second World War military activity in this area. This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
