Summary

A World War Two type 22 pillbox situated on the south side of East Bexington Farmhouse, with its field of fire is south to the beach. It is hexagonal on plan and built of reinforced concrete with brick exterior shuttering. Construction took place in 1940-41. A field visit in 1998 found the structure to be in a good condition. Visible on aerial photographs and digitally plotted for the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.

Full Description

Hexagonal type 22 pillbox. Probably a type 22 pillbox situated on S side of farmhouse with field of fire S to beach. Brick exterior shuttering. With PLAN drawn on form.East Bexington Farm, adjacent to the farm buildings. <1-3>
