Summary

There is strong evidence that Burton Bradstock had a Minster in the late Anglo-Saxon period. The manor was ancient royal demesne in 1086, and the church belonged to St Wandrille in 1086. It had at least five dependent chapels.

There is strong evidence that Burton Bradstock had a Minster in the late Anglo-Saxon period.(1) Burton Bradstock is recorded as a village in the Domesday Book as 'Bridetone/a'. <3>
