Full Description

Lynchets about 270 yds NE of BIND BARROW consist of two terraces, on the N slope of the hill. They are about 14 yds wide and 3ft high. (1) In a small, grass covered area, are four strip lynchets set in an E-W direction. They are parallel and strongly defined at the E side where they approach the modern field boundary. Here they average 1.5m high but become less strong as they run to the W. They appear to be of Medieval. type. (2) The system extends beyond Beach Road, where 6 strip lynchets aligned North-South, 160-250 yards long, now 2-3 feet high and 20 feet across, occur below Bind Barrow (SY 48 NE 4). (3)
