Summary

The first cottage hospital in Lyme Regis was in a four-roomed cottage on Sidmouth Road from 1873-1889. it is shown on the Ordnance Survey map of 1885.

‘The first cottage hospital was a four-roomed cottage, rented from 1873-1889. It moved to a former beerhouse until 1927, when a private house was bequeathed. It was enlarged to provide two 5-bed wards, 2 private wards and an operating theatre.’
