Summary

Romano British occupation debris consisting of 1st to 3rd century pottery and tile fragments. Iron Age pottery found. A square feature noted on aerial photographs may be natural.

Full Description

Occupation debris, Romano-British, occurs near Chebbard Farm on a gentle SE slope at about 400ft OD (SY75459855). The debris include a Samian and coarse pottery of the 1st to 3rd centuries AD, and tile fragments. Some sherds may be of Iron Age date.

Air photographs show a feature 50 ft square at SY75479852. <1-3>

The feature at SY 75479852 is a shallow depression, circular and almost certainly a natural solution hollow. <4>
