Full Description

No 6 High West Street (formerly listed as Judge Jeffrey's Lodgings) is a 17th century timber-framed building of three storeys and cellar said to be on the site of the Abbot of Abbotsbury's town house. Much restored both internally and externally. <2>

(SY 69209071) Judge Jeffrey's Lodgings (No.6 High West Street) with front wall of plastered timber-framing and other walls of stone was built in the first quarter of the 17th century. Judge Jeffrey is reputed to have lodged here in 1685 during the Assize after the Battle of Sedgemoor. <3>
