Summary

Road bridge. C16, with arches rebuilt in early C19. Coursed rubble stone walls and parapet. 3 segmental arches rebuilt in brick, both upstream and downstream.

Full Description

<1> Royal Commission on Historical Monuments (England), 1970, An Inventory of Historical Monuments in the County of Dorset, Volume III (Central) Part 1, 63 (Monograph). SDO146.

‘(3) BRIDGE (67959266), over the R. Cerne, 40 yds. S.E. of the church, is in three spans and has rubble walls and semicircular arches turned in brick. It is probably of late mediaeval origin but the arches were rebuilt in the 18th or early 19th century.’
