Summary

One of two barrows, identified as probable bowl barrows. In 1952 this monument was reported as being around 33 feet in diameter with a mound about 2½ feet high.

Full Description

Two bowl barrows: ... 'B' diameter 10 paces, height 2 ft. <2>

Barrow 'A' measuring 60 feet diameter by 3 ft. high. <3>

'B' - A possible round barrow. It is grass covered and there is no visible ditch. The diameter is approx. 9.0m. It is situated in a field which has a field system of IA/RB type (Dorset 30 SW 4). The mound overlies a lynchet approximately 0.6m. high and running in a N.-S direction, thus the mound is 0.8m high on the east, and 0.1m. high on the west. <4>

'(5) BARROWS, on North Hill nearly 1½ m. W. N. W. of the church, stand about 120 yards apart. The northern is about about 33ft. in diameter and 2½ ft. high; the southern is about 60 ft. in diameter and 3 ft. high. Both are much denuded, but probably they were bowl barrows.’
