Full Description

Mound on the summit of a low broad ridge. Possibly natural but probably a bowl barrow, 17 paces diameter by 1 metre high with no visible ditch. <1>

Bowl barrow on Avon Common, 115 metres south east of The Mount, one of a dispersed group of barrows on the heathland in this area. Situated on the summit of a low ridge, the barrow has a mound which is 20 metres in diameter and 1.3 metres high, surrounded by a quarry ditch from which material was excavated during its construction. This has become filled in over the years but survives as a buried feature approximately 3 metres wide. <2>
