Excavations in the south-east corner of Christchurch Priory precinct, during 1969-70, revealed the foundations of part of the Priory precinct wall, running roughly parallel to the mill stream.

Excavations in the south-east corner of Chrsitchurch Priory precinct, during 1969-70, revealed the foundations of part of the Priory precinct wall, running roughly parallel to the mill stream. These foundations were contiguous with, although at right angles to, a standing section of the precinct wall running towards the mill stream. The newly discovered precinct wall foundations also formed part of the structures of the priory garderobe and salmon house.
