Full Description

A broken stone battle-axe was found by Ron Powell in July 1981 in the upcast from the digging of a new pond in the Nursery Gardens, Hengistbury Head. The implement had been broken across the shaft hole and the blade end survived. The size and morphology of the battle-axe indicates it belongs to the Woodhenge Group. It is made of olivine dolerite.
