Full Description

Diam 20 feet Height 2 feet Overgrown. <1>

Site of barrow occupied by cemetery (?). <3>

A grass covered mound measuring 8.5 metres in diameter, and having a maximum height of 0.4 metres, surrounded by a well defined ditch 1.2 metres wide x 0.2 metres deep. There are no signs of extensive digging, but the top of the mound is slightly pitted, probably by rabbits, no surface finds were made. The ditch appears to be surrounded by a slight outer bank some 0.05 metres in hight and 0.7 - 0.8 metres wide. The bank is quite clear to the north of the mound but tends to vanish on the south, possibly having silted into the ditch.

The lowness of the mound together with the outer bank makes this rather a good example of a saucer barrow. <4>

Some recent mutilation but generally as described. Published 1:1250 revised. <5>
