(SZ 07469693) Beaker found AD 1929. <1> Early Bronze Age. Calkin Collection. British Museum. <2> A remarkable early Bronze Age beaker of late type was found about 200 yds W of the Kinson site (LBA Urnfield SZ 09 NE 8). <3>

Beaker found, Nov 1929, 4ft below the surface, during trenching operations in Holsbarn Avenue, Kinson. The writer visited the site on the day after the find, but too late to examine the trench for evidence of a possible inhumation. The surface of the ground was quite flat. The beaker stands 7.5" high. The ware has a blackish body with reddish-brown surface and is well fired. <4> Site now built over. <5>
