Summary

A Bronze Age bowl barrow in a field called Rowberry. In 1954, Ordnance Survey field investigation recorded it as being around 40 metres in diameter and 1 metre high. In 1969 it was described as having been much reduced by ploughing and barely visible.

Full Description

Tumulus (OE)? OGSC. In this field called Rowberry a low barrow exists, approx. position only. <1>

Bowl Barrow. 40 paces in diameter. 3ft in height. (Information from J B Calkin). <2>

An apparently undisturbed barrow; possibly similar to the Latch Farm barrow and indicating an LBA urnfield. <3>

A low spread mound is visible at the site indicated (TI), but was not fully investigated because of surrounding advanced crops. This feature is circular; approx. 40 metres in diameter and approx. 1.0 metre high in centre. Located and surveyed on Field Document SZ 16259126. <4>

Ploughing has reduced this barrow and it is now barely visible. Published 1:2500 revised. <5>
