Find Spot record MDO8519 - Handaxe, Broadway, Southbourne, Bournemouth

A Lower Palaeolithic handaxe was found when laying a surface water drain on Broadway near Wildown Road, Southbourne, in 1931. The object is now in the Calkin Collection in the British Museum.

D-shaped hand axe, 4ins long. Sharp, with cutting edge all round. <4>
