Summary

About two dozen abraded sherds of indeterminate character found in an arable field east of Dole's Hill Plantation. Some at least of 'Iron Age A' appearance; one bead-rim, possibly hand-made and of 'Iron Age B' form; one Romano-British pie-dish rim. Also found were two mediaeval sherds.

'Area vii. Cheselbourne West Down, arable field east of Dole's Hill Plantation; SY(30)/743978. D.C.M. 1952.4). About two dozen abraded sherds of indeterminate character, but some at least of Iron Age A appearance; one bead-rim, possibly hand-made and of Iron Age B form; one R.B. pie-dish rim; two mediaeval sherds.' {1}
