Full Description

Three Beakers were found in 1933 at Castle Lane Sheepwash Yard by H. Bailey when digging a trench for a surface water drain. They were found about four feet below the surface; there was no evidence of a barrow ditch. <1>

Site of finds now covered by a modern road. Mr. Calkin is of the opinion that these three beakers may be part of an urnfield to the north of the road. This ground was under floodwater at the time of field investigation, and could not be investigated. (3)
