Summary

A number of sherds of Late Iron Age and Roman Black Burnished ware lattice decorated pottery was found during the digging of house foundations in the Burleigh Road area in 1924. Two sherds of Late Iron Age pottery were also recovered.

(SZ 13449256) First century Romano-British sherds found in 1924, in Burleigh Road area, Pokesdown. <1>

Found in 1924 in house foundations in BURLEIGH ROAD area IA 'C', or RB 1st c or native wares; lattice ornament on sherds, which were not kept. Also found, 2 sherds of HENGISTBURY 'B' pottery, in the Druitt Collection, Red House Museum, Christchurch. <2>
