Summary

A small mound is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1970. It has been suggested by the NMR to be the potential site of a Bronze Age round barrow.

Full Description

A grass covered but flinty mound exists almost at the summit of a hill. The diameter of the mound is 11.5m., and its height 0.7m., except for the S. quadrant, which merges into the hillside. There is no trace of a berm or a ditch, and no sign of mutilation. This is possibly a bowl barrow. No surface finds were made were made in its vicinity. Site surveyed at SY 80718355. <1>

The area is currently under crops, but no evidence of a barrow is visible from a distance. <2>

The feature is no longer visible on the most recent Google Earth imagery. It was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
