Summary

A ditched bowl barrow situated on a steep-sided knoll. In 1970 the barrow was described as being around 23 feet in diameter with a mound about four feet high. The barrow was identified on aerial photographs taken in 1947.

Full Description

A heather and bracken covered mound with a diameter of 9.0 metres, and a height of 1.0 metres. No sign of a berm, but traces of an unsurveyable ditch occur around the north and south quadrants. A slight depression exists in the top, and there is eneral small mutilations by rabbits. This bowl barrow is composed of earth and small flints; no surface finds were made during field investigation. <2>

SY 80158641. Round barrow, possible ditched bowl, 25ft diameter and 4ft high, disturbed in the centre, situated on the flat top of a steep-sided knoll. <5>

A bowl barrow at SY 80148640, generally as described and measured by Authority (3), though,like the knoll on which it stands, it has been considerably pitted by military activity. See ground photograph. Revised at 1:2500 on MSD. <7>
