Full Description

Three round barrows west of Winfrith Drove: 'A' (34) SY 82298259 Bowl (?) barrow, 72ft diameter and 1 1/2ft high. Ploughed. <1>

All three barrows have been ploughed out 'A' & 'B' may be represented on the AP by two dark circular patches at SY 82288253 and SY 82268256. Nothing can be seen of 'C'. <2>

Potential site of a barrrow, listed in the NMR as shown on an early OS map. A small mound is visible in the vicinity on aerial photographs taken in 1946 and 1970; it was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project <3-4>. The site is completely plough-levelled and nothing is visible on latest Google Earth imagery.
