Full Description
Observations in May 1996 during construction of a drill site access track immediately adjacent to the proposed line of the Roman road found no evidence of Roman deposits. Construction of the track involved limited and shallow stripping of topsoil, and archaeological deposits may have been present at lower levels. (Cotton 1996)
