Full Description

The church of St. Michael's stood in a lane called Marcombs, or St. Michael's. It seems to have been but a small fabric. It was at length turned into a barn, and entirely pulled down. In 1756 the site of it was enclosed by a Glebe Garden. <1>

Site still a garden, and no further information obtained during field investigation. <3>

St Michael's Church existed in 1340 but had gone by the mid-18th century. <4-5>

In 1952 the Ordnance Survey recorded that the area was still under garden but recent maps show the plot has been built on (Simons 1985).
