Full Description
An iron sword found in 1927 below the river bed under the bridge of the River Frome at Wareham. Texts were discovered on it during cleaning around 1974. It is a decorated sword 44 cm long, comprising an incomplete blade, handle tang and incomplete horn handle grip. It has probably primary, highly deteriorated texts set probably without framing lines on the horn grip from boss to guard. One text is probably an owner formula the other is incomplete. <1>
