Full Description

Two round barrows north west of Pool Pond.

'A'-SY 88578375. Bowl barrow, 20.0m. diameter and 2.3m. high with surrounding ditch 1.2m wide and 0.4m deep. The top of the mound and north part of the ditch are mutilated.

'B'-SY 88568373. Bowl barrow. 24.0m. diameter and 2.4m. high with flattened top. The surrounding ditch, 1.0m. wide and 0.4m. deep merges on the north with that of 'A'. <2>

'A'-SY 88578376 and 'B'-SY 88568374 - (30) - Ditched double bowl barrow, with diameter of each mound, 62ft and 60ft respectively and both 8ft high. Surrounding ditches converge into a common ditch between the mounds. <3>

SY 885837. Two round barrows 50 yards (45m) north west of Pool Pound. Scheduled. <4>

'A' SY 88578375. Bowl barrow, overall diameter 24.0m. including a ditch 2.0m. wide and 0.4m. deep. The height of the mound is 2.3m.

'B' SY 88568373. Bowl barrow, overall diameter 24.5m. including a ditch 2.0m. wide and 0.4m. deep. The height of the mound is 2.7m. The ditches of 'A' and 'B' converge for a distance of a few metres. 'A' and 'B' Resurveyed and 'C' Surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <6>

One of two barrows on Povington Heath, visible as earthworks on aerial photographs <8-9>. The barrow mound is 19m across with an outer encircling ditch. It was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project and it still visible on recent Google Earth imagery.
