Full Description

A mound, possibly a bowl barrow, at 'C'-SY 88558371 is 18.0m. diameter and 1.6m. high with slightly mutilated top. There is no surrounding ditch nor trace of a berm. <2>

'C'-(29)-SY 88558372. Bowl barrow, about 55ft diameter and about 4ft high. Probably earlier than the south mound (i.e. SY 88568374) of double bowl barrow, above. <3>

'C'. SY 88558371. Bowl barrow, diameter 17.0m., height 1.0m., with a large pit in its top. 'C' Surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <5>

One of two barrows on Povington Heath, visible as earthworks on aerial photographs <6-7>. The barrow mound is 18m across with an outer encircling ditch. It was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project and it still visible on recent Google Earth imagery.
