Summary

Potential site of a Bronze Age round barrow forming part of the Thorn Barrow Group. Indistinct earthworks were identified on aerial photographs taken in 1946 which may form part of this barrow.

Full Description

'B'-(16)-SY 87698181. Bowl(?) barrow about 30ft diameter and about 3ft high. <2>

SY878819. Thorn Barrow, round barrow (See SY 88 SE 18) and three adjacent round barrows (probably 'B','C' and 'E' above). Scheduled. <3>

'B'. SY 87688180. Bowl (?) barrow, diameter 9.0m., height 1.0m. Resurveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <4>

Potential site of a Bronze Age round barrow forming part of the Thorn Barrow Group. Indistinct earthworks were identified on aerial photographs taken in 1946 which may form part of this barrow <7>. The site is approximately 18m across and was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck project. No sign of the adjacent barrows (MDO8067, 69 or 70) were identified.
