Full Description

A bowl barrow, ditched, with a hollow in centre of barrow: diameter 20 paces. <2>

This barrow has a diameter of 16.0 metres and a height of 1.4 metres. The encircling ditch is 2.0 metres wide and 0.3 metres deep. A circular depression on top has a diameter of 3.5 metres and an approximate depth of 0.5 metres. It is filled with long heather. A fern and heather covered bowl barrow. <3>

SY 8323 9191. Ditched bowl (?) barrow, about 50ft diameter and 4 1/2 ft high on the north spur of a ridge. <4>

SY 8323 9190. No change. Resurveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <5>

A Bronze Age bowl barrow is visible as an earthwork on lidar imagery <6> to the east of Millicent's Plantation, Turners Puddle. The barrow is sub-circular in shape and measures 16 m in diameter. It is surrounded by a ditch measuring up to 1 m in width. This feature was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
