Full Description
'An Undated Ditch at Stratton. During road improvements north of Wrackleford House (SY 66989298), a ditch section was observed as the chalk bank on the north side of the road was cut back. The ditch was at right angles to the road. It had a max. width of 1.70 m and a depth of c. 1 m. A small post-hole was cut into the west side and was filled with flints. The ditch-filling consisted of medium brown loam with small round flints. A layer of fine gravel about 0.10 m thick was recorded in the bottom. No dating evidence was found.' {1}
