Bowl barrow on Haydon Hilll. In 1959, Grinsell recorded this barrow as 17 paces in diameter with a slight mound.

Full Description

SY 67069416. A ditchless grass covered mound. Diameter 14.0 metres east-west and 13.0 metres north-south. Probably a bowl barrow, mutilated by cultivation. (1)

The mound is generally as described and measured by Authority (1). Another similar mound in the same field, at SY 66959416, measures 19.6 metres east-west and 21.8 metres north-south, and also averages 0.5 metres high. Both are currently ploughed and composed of earth; possible bowl barrows. Surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. (4)

Site lies in a field regularly ploughed in pasture grazed by cattle when visited. Visible as a faint rise reduced and spread by ploughing. On a south-facing slope of a spur.
