Summary

A bowl barrow. In 1970 this monument was reported as being around 40 feet in diameter with a mound about three feet high and surrounded by a ditch. The barrow has by cut into by a track.

Full Description

Two ditched bowl barrows at SY 90768326 ('A') … (A) is 40 feet in diameter by 3 feet high, and is cut by a track. <3>

Two adjcent heather covered barrows on the crest of a ridge on Grange Heath about 170ft above OD, discovered by Brown <1>.
Both show signs of a ditch and of disturbance. SY 9075 8329. About 3ft high and 40ft diameter. ... Listed by Grinsell, numbers Steeple 3c and 3d. <2> These two mutilated round barrows lie on high ground at the edge of the army firing range. Covered by dense, mature gorse bushes and surrounded by deep rutted vehicle tracks neither barrow is at present accessible for inspection or survey. <5>

Situated on a heathland ridge, a low rise covered in gorse and heather. A ditch is clear only on the south. 7/7/C
