Full Description
(SY 810881) Broomhill Bridges, comprising three separate brick-built bridges over a tributary of the River Frome were built in 1769 by Edward Weld and James Frampton and are of one, two and three arches. <2>
It was strenghened within the roadway in 1973 without altering the appearnace. <3>
The three arch bridge at SY 81058808 is the one scheduled. <4>

The two arch and three arch bridges at SY 80998816 and SY 81058808 are in good condition (see ground photograph of latter). The third bridge at SY 80998816 is covered by scrub and has no parapet. <6>
The two arch bridge at SY8099 8816 has been modified and partly replaced with a modern structure. It is therefore not recommended for scheduling. <7>

'(4) BROOMHILL BRIDGES, three (810881), over a tributary of the river Frome, are of brick with brick parapets and stone copings and of one, two and three arches. They were built in 1769 by Edward Weld and James Frampton (Kelly's Directory of Dorsetshire, Winfrith Newburgh; Contract in D.C.R.O.).'
