Summary

A Bronze Age bowl barrow on a south-facing slope. In 1970 this monument was recorded as being around 46 feet in diameter with a mound about 4½ feet high. It is crossed by a hedgerow and the eastern part has been ploughed away.

Full Description

Two bowl barrows `A' and `B'. 12 and 15 paces in diameter, 3 and 4.5ft high. 'B' has a ditch. <2>

`B'. A grass covered bowl barrow, the north-west half of which alone survives. The barrow is crossed by an earth hedge-bank which, in itself, has caused considerable mutilation. South-east of the hedge, the mound has been completely ploughed away. NE-SW diameter 18.0 metres NW-SE diameter 9.0 metres, height 1.5 metres. Traces of an unsurveyable ditch are noticeable on the north-west side. <3>

`B'. SY 69659484. Bowl barrow, 46ft diameter and 4.5ft high on the same slope as `A', but bisected by a hedgerow and ploughed away on the east side. <4>

`B' - SY 696948. Round barrow south of Wolfeton Clump. Scheduled. <5>

`B' approximates to the description and measurements of Authority (3), though it is now being cut into by ploughing (see ground photograph). Revised at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <6>
