Read, Chris, 1988, Letter from Chris Read to Jo Draper dated 22 August 1988 (Verbal communication). SDO21429.
'Firstly at Headbury in Langton Matravers there is a possible barrow at about 9932 7716. It is 3ft high and 16-20 yd. across. It is well-sited for a barrow, on the highest part of the ridge and is clearest when seen from below. From above it is rounded - as if ploughed in the past. (The name 'Headbury' is interesting but I see that it comes from Eidbury - an 18thC quarrying family.'
