‘WILKSWOOD FARM: A flint scraper found in a field S. of the disused quarries S.W. of Wilkswood Farm. This was the only flint seen in this field. The field was in ley pasture when visited and is probably ploughed once every 3-5 years.’
<2> Papworth M, 1994, Eastington, Acton, Westwood, Wilkswood, New Barn, Corfe Castle Estate, Wessex Region, 51 (Unpublished document). SWX1388.
A flint scraper found by M. Papworth in 1985 lay 300m SW of Wilkswood Farm. It was of Bronze Age type and the only flint seen in this field. It appears to be a stray find but may indicate the site of a prehistoric settlement in the vicinity.
