Full Description

Romano-British pottery found in three areas, centred at A: SY 88668596, B: SY 88708607, and C: SY 88828617. <1-2>

No surface finds were made in these areas. A and C are pasture and B under crops. No further information was obtainable at West Holme Lodge farm. No surface indication of habitation. <3>

'(53) West Holme (SY 88 NE). Occupation Debris comes from Bagshot Beds and Valley Gravel near the S. bank of the Frome, mainly below the 50 ft. contour. Romano-British coarse pottery, some in D.C.M. has been found on the surface and in test pits, on both sides of the road to Holme Bridge between about 88668600 and 89008637.'
