Summary

A very disturbed mound identified as a possible barrow. A mound is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Farm Heath, East Stoke. It is considered likely to be the remains of the possible late prehistoric round barrow described above. It is one of a large group of potential Bronze Age round barrows situated at this location (see also MDO7701-05 and MDO30236-41).

Full Description

'E' - SY 89028793. Large natural mound of gravel. <1>

Farm Heath Group of five barrows on slope dropping north towards River Piddle. 'E' - (47) SY 89028794. Mound, possible barrow, on top of small knoll. Very disturbed. <2>

'D' and 'E' are large natural mounds of gravel. <4>

A mound, approximately 15.2m in diameter, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs <5-8> of Farm Heath, East Stoke. It is considered likely to be the remains of the possible Bronze Age round barrow described above. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. It is one of a large group of potential late prehistoric barrows situated at this location (see also MDO7701-05 and MDO30236-41).
