Summary

Bowl barrow on the summit of Boat Knoll, which is called 'Boyt Knowl' on early maps. In 1970 this monument was reported as being around 45 feet in diameter with a mound about five feet high, and much disturbed. The site is visible as earthworths on aerial photographs taken in 1966.

Full Description

SY 86658129. Bowl barrow, about 45ft. diameter and about 5ft. high situated on summit of Boat Knowl ('Boyt Knowl on 1770 map of E. Lulworth Common Fields). Much disturbed. <2-3>

SY 867813. Round barrow on Boat Knoll. Scheduled. <4>

SY 86658129. Bowl barrow in a dense wood and inaccessible. Revised at 1:2500 on M.S.D. from measurements given by Authy's 2 & 3. <5>

The disturbed mound, 21m across, is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1966 <6>.

Recent Google Earth imagery shows the site covered in scrub, and the barrow is not visible.
