‘Observation of the groundworks in preparation for a new clay mine at at Norden Farm involved the monitoring of two areas: … the access area for the new saft (around SY 9495 8275). … The second area revealed traces of three ditches, two aligned approximately north west-south east and one aligned north-south. Fragments of post-medieval pottery were recovered from the first two ditches and in one, a single flint flake. A sherd of Samian pottery, and seven sherds of medieval pottery were recovered from the topsoil and exposed subsoil surface.’
