‘Two possible barrows and remains of a flint industry near Little Woolgarston, Corfe Common.
In 1959 Mr. P. Anthony Brown discovered two mounds which are possibly unrecorded barrows … He also found evidence of a flint industry in the vicinity. Apart from many waste flakes of flint and local chert, both he and the writer have picked up small round scrapers in the Neolithic and Bronze Age tradition from the surface of the mounds and their vicinity, and Mr. Brown also records a few micro-flakes. On and around the knoll the soil, although certainly not rich in humus, is darker than elsewhere in the field, but no pottery has been noticed. The flints are certainly most common on and close to the mounds but, if the latter are indeed artificial, this could well be due to the disturbance of underlying levels during their construction. …’
