SY 986836. Round barrow on Brenscombe Heath. Scheduled. <6>

SY 98628354. A round barrow situated at 51m OD on high ground at the edge of a level moorland plateau.

Of earthern construction with a naturally occuring small stone content it measures 9.2m in diameter and up to 1.0m in height. A trench now 0.5m deep has at sometime been dug into the centre from the SE side with some spoil dumped against this side; a slight discolouration of the grass around the heather-covered mound may indicate the presence of a ditch. Resurveyed at 1:2500.

The moorland adjacent to the barrow is being deep ploughed, perhaps for the first time but nothing of significance was noted. <8>

Bowl barrow, 470 metres west of Burnbrake Cottage. The barrow mound measures a maximum of 10 metres in diameter and around 0.9 metres high. The surrounding quarry ditch has become infilled but will survive as a buried feature around 1.5 metres wide. Scheduled. <9>

A bronze Age round barrow, approximately 10.2m in diameter, is visible as an earthwork on Brenscombe Heath, Corfe Castle <10>. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
