A ditched bowl barrow, one of a group of seventeen round barrows and one long barrow. This is the second largest barrow of the group lying immediately east of the largest 112,157 on the crest of the chalk ridge. The barrow is visible as a very prominent rise 22m dia. and 2.5m high surrounded by a ditch 3.5m wide and 0.3m deep. RCHM (1970) records that the ditch of 112,157 cuts that of 112,161. Nine mounds are recorded on Woodward's map (1775) and a cremation burial is recorded from one of the barrows in this group (Miles 1826). This land has been downland since at least 1585 (Treswell) and appears never to have been ploughed.
