Full Description

Situated at SY 92608217 is a turf and bramble covered mound with a diameter of 9.0m and a height of 0.4m with no surrounding ditch, which may be a bowl barrow. <1>

SY 92608217, Church Knowle 14. Listed, with reference to OS card (Authy 1), as a probable barrow. <2>

This mound was not identified. The indicated area falls at the end of a flat and narrow ridge top where the ground surface has been disturbed and at present is covered by bramble and gorse. <3>

A slight mound, 10m across, is possibly the site of a Bronze Age round barrow. It is visible as a very low earthwork on aerial photographs taken in 1946 <4> and was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
