Full Description

SY 927818. Remains of two contour strip lynchets with treads 4 yards and 13 yards wide divided by a riser 10 feet high are situated north of Barnston. They were part of the former West Field. <1>

These much reduced lynchets lie in an arable field on the lower soth-facing slopes of Stonehill Down. The hedges which formed the southern boundary of the field have been effaced and the area is regularly ploughed. <2>
