Summary

Deserted medieval village immediately east of Holworth farm. Comprises a complex of scarps and banks forming rectilinear and sub-square plots either side of a partially sunken east-west aligned road. Three Holworths are known to have belonged to Milton Abbas - this might be East or North Holworth. Excavation in 1958 produced occupation evidence up to the fifteenth century, but not beyond.

Full Description

Remains of a Medieval or Later settlement at West Chaldon Farm cover some 2 acres and consist of two much
disturbed platforms to the south of the farm at SY 77778277. Largely formless remains including a platform and rectangular
flat depression are also visible to the north of the farm at SY 77838305. <1-2>

These remains (centred at SY 778829) consist of two or three amorphous platforms and undulations which form no coherent pattern. <3>
