Full Description

A Bronze Age round barrow is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery of Philliols Heath <6>. It is approximately 13.8m in diameter with a surrounding outer ditch approximately 1.5m wide. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.

This barrow has a diameter of 15.0 metres and a height on the south from the top of the mound to the bottom of the ditch, of 1.8 metres. The surrounding ditch averages 2.0 metres wide and 0.7 metres deep. The barrow and ditch have been badly mutilated by tree-planting trenches. A tree covered bowl barrow. <2>

A large bowl barrow with a very well marked ditch. No other details given. <3>

SY 86259228. Ditched bowl barrow (called 'Fox Barrow' on I. Taylor's Estate Map 1777), about 54 ft. diameter and about 7 1/2ft high. The surrounding ditch is 7ft. wide and 2ft. deep. Thickly overgrown. <4>
