Full Description
A copper alloy object found by Mr. C Gibbs while metal detecting in a field south-east of Worgret Manor Farm. A fully modelled animal head terminal with two dot and circle eyes. The form of the object is unusual and no parallel for this form has yet been found. The two pairs of circular holes are thought to have been intended for small rivets and it may be that the object is a strap-end. Given the available evidence the object is thought to date from the 10th or 11th century.(1)
