Summary

Possible Bowl Barrow, mound 12 metre diameter 2 metres high, situated in a wood of silver birch on the edge of Slepe heath. May be modern earthwork.

Full Description

A heather covered bowl barrow with a diameter of 13.0m. and a height of 1.8m. It is badly shaped though there are no apparent signsof mutilation. No ditch. <2>

‘Mound 12.0m diam. and 2.0m high. Situated in a wood of silver birch on the E. edge of Slepe Heath. A prominent grass covered mound also covered with gorse and silver birch. Possibly an earthwork of modern construction. Visible on AP/RAF//1946//CPE-UK 1821:6397. Also OS SY98NE8. 7/7/B’
