Summary

A ditched bowl barrow located on the end of a spur on Worgret Heath, Arne. In 1970 this monument was reported as being around 20 feet in diameter with a mound about 2½ feet high. A circular mound is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs. It is considered likely to be the remains of the round barrow described above. It is one of a group of dispersed barrows which make up the Worgret Heath group.

Full Description

Ditched Bowl barrow, forming part of the Worgret Heath Group. It is located on the end of a spur and has a diameter of 20 ft and a height of 2.5 ft. (1-6).

A circular mound, approximately 11.4m in diameter, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Worgret Heath, Arne (8). It is considered likely to be the remains of the round barrow described above. It is one of a group of dispersed barrows which make up the Worgret Heath group. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
